10 Best Singapore restaurant openings in 2012

2012 was yet another spectacular year for foodies.

The debut of restaurants by Michelin-starred chefs – not least Pollen by Jason Atherton – continued unabated (unfortunately, not one of them made my list).

Duxton Hill, the darling of all dining enclaves, continued to grab headlines with new openings like Le Petit Cancale and 81 Duxton, unfazed by the rebirth of the hot-again Club Street-Ann Siang precinct.

After a deluge of French and Italian eateries in 2011, the local tapas scene got a shot in the arm with a flux of new eateries, some waving the Spanish flag and yet others venturing beyond the tried and tested tortilla de patatas.

As we look forward to a more delicious 2013, let’s not forget the eateries where we had our moments of culinary epiphany.
